Conditioning of Aesthetic sense vs Awakening of aesthetic sense
The present curriculum based on western theories are imposing western and decontextualized aesthetic sensibility. The proposal is to create conditions for awakening the aesthetic sensibility of the students. The process is to connect learners to the beauty of nature and allow for open and self initiated enquiry/ exploration. Meditative and contemplative, tentative  rather than rational and certain.

Formation of  Aesthetic sense.  Fresh Research is called for to understand how aesthetic sense is formed and how traditional culture developed their own sensibilities thus retaining authenticity and maintaining diversity. The question we need to ask is . Is aesthetic formation rooted in the being? Is it rooted in the material? Is it rooted in the overall context of where we live? Or is all of this together influencing the result?

BASIC DESIGN  course is responsible for the development of the basic aesthetic sensibility in the student. It has two aspects. One is the elements of design and the other the fundamentals of design.
awakening and being sensitive to the various elements of beauty rather than applying the rules and methods of beauty. In other words awakening the aesthetic cognitive structures. Seeing accounts for both knowing and feeling the word. it is at once a cognitive as well as an aesthetic act.
So the whole program is to LEARN TO SEE , to be aware of the inherent nature of beauty in nature. Our existence is established in beauty.
As schooling trains us to learn the word instead of the world a rewiring occurs to our natural cognitive system. The natural cognitive system is meant to understand the world and is biologically rooted. Like digestive system the internal organizing processes are biological.
So basic design must take in to account of two things as of now. The students are already fragmented and cognitively damaged as much as the teacher and an effort must be made to address this. So the established wrong habits of the mind has to be broken and ability for being open should be addressed. The ability see can only be awakened by addressing the cognitive damages.

We are schooled and trained to see everything in fragments but the world is integrated. So the initial exercises must be to experience the totality of nature.
